Governments are awash in detailed data, but are they really collecting and using what can be used to inform and improve policy and services?
This article certainly calls the question. And, in my own doctoral research and client work on this topic, I certainly see the focus on outputs, not outcomes, and how difficult it is to actually get and use the data we DO have. This is likely to be a topic gaining greater attention as we continue to improve our tech abilities to manage it.
