With the constant pressure on businesses by customers to evolve and transform, many frameworks and methodologies have emerged to drive ever faster and efficient change. In many conversations I have with clients, I have found a lot of excitement around Design Thinking, Lean, and Agile (with DevOps thrown in there as well) but it is usually a conversation around a presumption of "which one." Over time I have learned that the answer is "and" not "or," and that these 3 frameworks are not mutually exclusive but instead part of a continuum that reaches across the entirety of an organization.
Design Thinking is how we explore and solve problems; Lean is our framework for testing our beliefs and learning our way to the right outcomes; Agile is how we adapt to changing conditions with software.
