Amazon's announcement to move to free one day shipping for Prime Members is sure to create tremendous anxiety for other retailers. However, competing with Amazon on its own turf isn't smart. DtC brands can be "good enough" on shipping and "win" with consumers on product curation, site experience, brand integrity and their own version of membership (e.g. Nordy Club, Sephora Flash).
