Using AI effectively in government involves SO much more than making the tech work. We also need to figure out where it should be used, under what rules of conduct, how it will fit into our legal framework, how it will fit into our transparency and accountability guidelines, and much more.
So, we need government leaders who understand the potential of AI, the implications, and are learning from each other all the time. The UK government is undertaking a program to train such leadership skills in government executives and to create that network of people who will question each other and learn from each other. Is anyone familiar with any similar programs in the U.S.?
“The programme aims to improve the way public sector leaders operate together which of course will improve the service we provide to the public. It is a privilege to take up this opportunity.”
