Today's example of a Public-Private Partnership (P3) is in Virginia where a large number of public and private organizations are working together to create a job-training program to quickly train Virginia residents for jobs in the solar power industry.
This program helps Virginians transition to new jobs and supports a new industry that's one of the fastest growing in the country. This is a terrific example of a P3 bringing the best resources from a number of organizations to meet the significant challenge of transitioning citizens to new economic opportunities they may not have been fully prepared for.
Please pass along any examples of other P3s supporting government policy you may be aware of.
"The program gives Virginians a competitive edge when applying to jobs because they can demonstrate that they have devoted the time and effort to gain the skills solar employers are looking for.”
