I mentioned earlier this week that U.S. state and local governments are starting to realize the potential benefits of blockchain technology to support economic development goals. The governments of China are ahead of us in this realization.

The province of Anhui has announced a program to implement blockchain exactly to support its regulatory and economic development role. This article is short on specifics, but the fact its announced and integrated into a broader national program is noteworthy, at least to me, of what governments around the world are doing to take the lead on how to improve how they work to improve their own economic competitiveness.
