The Cincinnati Innovation District was recently announced. It's a partnership including state and city government, JobsOhio, the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Children's Hospital, and local businesses.
At full build-out, it promises to create more than 15,000 STEM graduates, $2 billion in research funding, 20,000 new jobs, and $3 billion in annual economic impact. Those numbers are significant, and likely not possible without the cooperation of all those entities, none of whom could do anything like that by themselves for the residents of Cincinnati.
Another example of the power of the public-private partnership model. What are your ideas for your community?
Cincinnati Innovation District is expected to attract significant investment in mixed-use buildings that will provide office/lab, retail, housing and nightlife that will make the area attractive to job creation, private investment, and talent seeking an urban experience
