This is a more-traditional P3 story than I've been bringing you, but the scale and timing are so impressive, I wanted to make you aware of it.
After four years, and dealing with natural disasters and a pandemic, the public-private partnership has delivered on-time and on-budget a $1.2 billion expansion of the campus facilities at UC-Merced. Given the essential need for education to support continuing economic growth in our communities, and now to do so enabling social distancing for at least a while, this is an impressive accomplishment.
It's a great example of the essential reason for considering public-private partnerships as an organizational model for so many purposes - we can accomplish so much more together than we can by ourselves. What are the needs in your community a P3 might help you address?
