The Covid-19 era has forced change in many areas; but one thing remains, students crave social interaction. They want the "college experience" that is provided through living in purpose-built student housing. Yes, student housing has looked very different the past twelve months, but it is here to stay.
While some on-campus housing was closed due to the pandemic over the past year, we don’t expect a long-term dent in this demand. And the only effect it has had on our off-campus housing investment properties is to increase demand. The reasoning for this is so simple: For most students, one of the most exciting aspects of going to college is moving away from home for the first time. This hasn’t changed, and we don’t expect it to over the next decade and beyond, especially when you consider the quality of life these kinds of modern facilities can offer students.
